Bro. Charles and
his wife, LuLu, have been married since 1967 and they have two
children. Their son Rodney is married to LuAnn and they have two
children, Juli and Cody. Their daughter Amanda, is married to Jack
Long, and they also have two children, Tayler and Hannah. LuLu
serves in many activities including Clements’ annual children’s
camp.

Charles Simmons serves as Minister of Pastoral Care/ Senior Adults. Bro. Charles graduated from Hazlewood High School in 1967. After being called into the ministry he completed church growth ministry training at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. Before being called in to the ministry full time, Bro. Charles worked at Reynolds Aluminum in Sheffield, Alabama for 27 years. During this time, Bro. Charles served as the Sunday School Director in his local church for 15 years and was ordained as a deacon in 1978. Before coming to Clements, Brother Charles served as the Muscle Shoals Associational Sunday School Director. Bro. Charles served 3 years as Minister of Education at Clements prior to the position he holds now.
As minister of Pastoral Care/Senior Adults, Bro. Charles leads the hospital ministry, nursing home and after-care bereavement ministry as well as over-seeing the activities of Senior Adults. Bro. Charles has been involved in two mission trips to the Ukraine and had the opportunity to share with them about Sunday School work.
