Pastoral Care >

The purpose of pastoral care ministries is to minister and serve the families of Clements Baptist Church in times of personal need.  We do this through:

  • Hospital Visitation Ministry

  • Bereavement Ministries

  • Department Administration

Hospital Visitation Ministry

The purpose of the hospital visitation ministry is to administer the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to family members, people in our community, and the members of Clements Baptist Church during hospitalization.  We do this through visitation on Monday through Friday and on weekends when necessary.  The deacons also assist the pastoral care ministry in covering emergencies after office hours and on weekends.

The pastoral care ministry also wants to make sure that the Clements family or family members of church members are ministered to during times of serious or life threatening illnesses.  We minister to them through:

  • regular home visitation

  • sending cards

  • making telephone calls

  • nursing home visitation

Bereavement Ministries

The purpose of bereavement ministries is to minister to people when they experience a death in their family.  To often the death of a friend, child, or spouse is devastating.  The grieving process is lengthy and sometimes intense.  Even mature Christians with a solid faith need ongoing comfort and encouragement during the grieving period.  Those people without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ face a bleak mourning process.  Without encouragement that comes from having eternal life, the issues that come with grief are amplified.

Our responsibilities include:

  • assisting the families with funeral arrangements

  • selecting and scheduling the place for the funeral

  • selecting and scheduling the minister, musicians, and ordering the flowers

  • attending all funerals for church members and immediate family

  • going to the home of the family upon notification of a death.

Also our purpose is to help with funerals of the un-churched and to provide services for families who have experienced a loss in their family in the context of a death.  When called upon we will help the families plan the funeral and then we will perform the funeral if there is a need to.  Our purpose is to evangelize, exhort, and encourage families that do not attend or that do not have a local church to help them.
