The purpose of this ministry is to provide the assistance necessary to enable all children and youth to learn about God’s love and grow in faith.

 

Each person will be partnered with a “Buddy”. We ask each parent or caregiver to give us the information needed to allow us to appropriately match the individual child with a special Buddy.  The child’s Buddy will be assigned specifically to him/her to assist in the child’s needs during the Sunday school time. 

 

Respite Night

Clements Baptist Church offers free respite care the 2nd Friday of each month from 6:00-9:00.  For more information contact Traci McGill at the church office.

 

If you have a child or know a child who needs special help while at church and would like more information, contact the church office at 256-729-1328.

 

Interested In Serving

The Special Needs Department is preparing to expand!  If you are looking for a ministry in which you would like to serve the Lord, maybe the Special Needs Department is a place about which you can pray and consider.

    Every person is important to God!  This includes those with developmental and other disabilities.  We have a unique ministry at Clements, welcoming those with special needs into our worship service.  Jesus, when on earth, had a special place in his heart for those whom society rejected and we as a church have chosen to have a God’s heart to love and care for all persons regardless of the challenges they face.  People with special needs have a lot to offer --gifts that the body of Christ needs.

 

Clements Baptist is committed to ministering to every one of God’s children.  Below you will find information about the Special Needs Family Ministry at Clements.

 

Building Accessibility

Our campus is completely wheelchair accessible and we have handicapped restrooms located throughout the facility.  We also have wheelchairs available for those who need assistance for worship.  Please see the ushers at the doors for this help.

 

Special Needs Adults Sunday School

We meet in room 212 every Sunday morning at 8:30.  This class is taught and supported by caring church members who have a God’s calling to teach those with special needs about the love of Christ.  This department is a vital part of the Sunday School Ministry.

 

Side By Side

This ministry is for children and youth who have difficulty with transitions, a learning disability, developmental delay, vision or hearing difficulty, a physical disability, a medical condition, behavioral difficulties, mental retardation, or who need special equipment.  It is available during Sunday school and other church activities.
