Ukrainians Reaching and Teaching Ukrainians
The goal and vision of Abraham Bible was to develop a ministry, which would be indigenous as soon as possible. Ukrainian Christians quickly embraced the concept of Bible education by extension. Within four years after Bible started his first group, Bible Training Center ministries were established in 19 oblasts. This led to the establishment of the Ukrainian Bible Training Center Association, better known as BEE Ukraine. These centers are directed by faithful Ukrainians, depending mostly upon financial support from Western churches and individuals. In each oblast, where the ministry exists, trained facilitators travel throughout the region leading study groups in churches and homes.

Will You Join in What God is doing in the Ukraine?
To both continue and expand this great work, it takes the help of sponsors, churches and/or individuals. These sponsors not only provide financial assistance, but also encouragement as American Christians come to help and be involved in a variety of ways.
Members of Clements Baptist Church currently travel to the Ukraine once a year to encourage, support and teach the Ukrainian people. For the year 2003, eleven persons of Clements Baptist Church traveled to the Khmelnitsky, Ukraine as our commitment to support the facilitators in that area.
As Henry Blackaby, author of the very successful Experiencing God course says, “Look to see where God is working and get involved.” God is working in the Ukraine, and much needs to be done while freedom of religion exists.

Ukraine Missions >

Clements Baptist Church in being obedient to the great commission, Matthew 28:18-20, endeavors, in part, to fulfill this command. For over seventy (70) years, people in the former Soviet Union were forbidden to read or even posses the Word of God. In the past few years, a new ministry has been introduced to these countries. This ministry, Bible Education by Extension (BEE) is being used to train pastors, deacons and lay people for the work of God. It has been the privilege of Clements Baptist Church to be involved in supporting this work in the Ukraine, specifically, the Khmelnitsky Oblast (state).

BEE Ukraine History
Abraham Bible, a BEE International staff person, moved his family to Kiev, Ukraine in 1990. With a vision burning within him, Bible aggressively traveled around the Ukraine inviting and urging committed believers to become part of small study groups into which he would pour his knowledge and life.
Wisely, Bible set out to develop the teaching ministry through the cooperation and support of Ukrainian pastors. Existing pastors were at first apprehensive about allowing people to become involved in the study groups. However, in just a short time it became evident that the students in these groups were of great assistance in the churches. The Bible education by extension students were asking to take responsibility to do things like work with children, preach, and to be involved in evangelism. A strong support from pastors was developed. The Ukrainian Union of Baptist churches heartily endorses the ministry.

Equipping the Saints
Because of the solid results from the teaching materials, and their adaptability for use in teaching others, selected students were selected to lead study groups themselves. Recognizing the power of “learners teaching others”, it was required that before students could go on to more advanced courses, they must be involved in forming and leading groups for non-believers. As people became believers, they then were urged to follow through with groups teaching the basics about the Christian life. From the basic courses, students then moved on to more advanced courses, which both added to their knowledge of the Christian life and equipped them for the ministry in and through the churches.
Starting with just Abraham Bible; spending week after week, month after month, on trains and buses going from area to area, the BEE ministry spread across most of Ukraine. Training centers, called Bible Training Centers have been established in most oblasts in the Ukraine. In the fall of 1999, there were 7,683 students in Ukraine, with BEE ministry spreading into Russia by BEE Ukrainian missionaries.
